Hrithvik's Journal - Our First School Visit

I still remember the nervous excitement of our first Chemistry on Wheels school visit. We had spent weeks planning, testing experiments, and making sure everything was just right. But as we walked into the classroom, nothing could have prepared us for the energy in the room rows of students, eyes wide with curiosity, waiting to see what we had in store.
The first experiment started, and for a split second, I held my breath. Would they find it interesting? Would something go wrong? But as the reaction took off bubbles foaming, colors changing the room erupted in gasps and laughter. That was the moment it all clicked. Science wasn’t just happening in front of them; they were experiencing it.
One student, hesitant at first, slowly raised his hand and asked, “Why does this happen?” That single question sparked a chain reaction more hands shot up, more questions, more excitement. I could see it in their faces: science was no longer just something in their textbooks. It was real, tangible, and, most importantly, fun.
Of course, not everything went smoothly. A beaker tipped over, and we had to think on our feet when one reaction didn’t go as planned. But those little mishaps made it feel even more real, showing the students (and us) that science isn’t about perfection it’s about discovery.
That first visit set the tone for everything that came after. It showed us that what we’re doing matters. And as Chemistry on Wheels grows, we carry that feeling with us the wonder, the joy, the unexpected moments of connection.
